This privacy policy (“Policy”) outlines how Salmon Evolution collects, processes, and protects the personal data of individuals who use our website and our related services. We are committed to protecting your personal data and complying with the General Data Protection Regulation[1] (“GDPR”), the Privacy Information Act and other applicable data protection laws.

This policy explains the types of personal data we collect, how we use and protect it, the legal basis for the processing, and your rights with respect to your personal data. By using our site and services, you agree to the collection and use of your personal data in accordance with this policy.

Salmon Evolution, represented by the general manager, is the data controller, i.e. decides why and how the personal data should be processed, for processing as discussed below. You may contact us regarding the processing of your personal data at any time.

Information collected to improve our website

We collect personal data when you visit our website This personal data is information in the form of e.g. identity data (IP address), country, pages visited, categories visited, search and click history, click rate and time spent at the website.

Technologies, including cookies, are used to automatically collect information about you for various purposes, including:

  3. Marketing

By clicking “Accept”, you give your consent for all these purposes. Information collected from analytics tools

We use Google Analytics to analyze behavior on our website. Google Analytics is a free service that provides us with the opportunity to see numbers of visitors, numbers of site views, sources of traffic, geographical location, etc. To collect this information, Google stores a script in your web browser.

Data collected with Google Analytics is collected anonymously. Data cannot be traced to your user or IP-address.

  • Information collected from analytics tools are Statistics of submitted forms, click on pages and videos
  • From where someone accessed our website (Google search/ad, LinkedIn, Facebook)
  • City of location

We do not collect sensitive personal data with Google Analytics.

We process these types of personal data based on your consent, cf. GDPR Art. 6 (1) a.

The information will be deleted when you withdraw your consent or in 36 months.


Information collected when you interact with us

We collect personal data when you register an account with us, complete a form, or interact with us in any other way. We collect the following information:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Job title
  • Company name
  • E-mails and communication
  • Any other information you choose to provide to us in a form

We do not collect any sensitive personal data when you interact with us.


Use of personal data

We use your personal data to fulfill our obligations towards you as our customer. We use your personal information for the following purposes:  

  • To communicate with you and respond to your inquiries
  • To maintain your relationship with us as a customer or potential customer
  • To create and maintain your account with us
  • To understand how we may best assist you and tend to your needs
  • To provide you with customer care and support
  • To complete purchases and transactions
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our legal rights

The processing is necessary for the performance of the agreement we have entered into with the customer, cf. GDPR Art. 6 (1) b.

The data will be deleted when we consider the dialogue to have ended, normally after 6 months.


Information collected for marketing purposes

We collect personal data when you interact with us. We collect the following information with purpose of sending you marketing communications:

  • Contact information
  • Behavior on our website
  • Open and click rate on emails
  • Attendance of events
  • Submission of forms
  • Interests and profile information

The purpose of this information is to make our marketing communications more relevant to you as our user. The processing takes place on the basis of your consent and/or existing customer relationship, cf. Section 15 of the Marketing Control Act.

The information will be deleted when you withdraw your consent.

You can withdraw your consent to receive marketing emails from us at any time by clicking on “Unsubscribe” at the bottom of any email received from us.


Legal basis for processing personal data

Our legal basis for processing your personal data depends on the specific purposes for which we use your data, according to GDPR Art 6. In some cases we are obligated to collect, store and maintain personal information to comply with legal obligations, cf.GDPR Art. 6 (1) b and c.Information in regard to accounting and bookkeeping falls under this category.


Storage, protection and deletion of data

We use data processors to collect, store or otherwise process personal data on our behalf. In such cases, we have entered into agreements to safeguard information security at all stages of the processing. Your personal information is stored in HubSpot. Anonymous information for statistical purposes are stored in Cloudflare, Google Analytics LinkedIn, Vimeo and Piwik.  

We take all necessary steps to keep your information safe within our systems:

  • HubSpot is used for managing contact information and personal data is shared with HubSpot. However, all contact information is secured within Salmon Evolutions own HubSpot account and is only available to employees on a need-to-know basis. All information is secured with two factor authentication and with necessary steps to keep information safe.
  • Cloudflare provides us with statistics and will only show anonymized information
  • Google Analytics provides us with statistics and will only show anonymized information
  • LinkedIn provides us with statistics and will only show anonymized information
  • Vimeo provides us with statistics and will only show anonymized information
  • Piwik provides us with statistics and will only show anonymized information

We may store personal information for an extended period of time and as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected. We delete information when it is no longer relevant.  

 The storage time for the individual types of information is included above.All processing of personal data that we carry out takes place within the EU / EEA area.


Security, fraud detection and criminal activity

Salmon Evolution will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.


Your privacy rights

Listed below are your rights regarding your personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us as We will respond to your inquiry as soon as possible, and no later than one calendar month, starting from the day we receive your request.


Right to view your own data

You have the right to request access and receive information about the personal data we process about you in our systems. Reach out to to make use of this right.


Right to correct your own data

You have the right to request an update or correction of false information stored about you in our systems. Reach out to to make use of this right.


Right to delete your own data

You have the right to request deletion of your personal information at any time. We will as far as possibly comply with a request to delete personal data, but we cannot do this if we still need the data. However, transactional information that is necessary to follow the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act (Loven om bokføring[2]) cannot be deleted if you want to continue your business with us. Right to turn off and delete cookies

It is possible to turn off Cookies on your browser. However, you should be aware that many webpages might not function fully if you turn Cookies off. You will for example not be able to shop online, log in to social media such as Facebook, twitter, Google+ and so on.

It is easy to delete cookies that you have previously accepted. The deletion process depends on which browser you use and the device you use. You can normally find it under Settings – Security and privacy – but it varies from browser to browser.

Processing based on consent

If we process personal data based on your consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time. The easiest way to do this is to use the way stated when you gave your consent or contact us.


Right to restrict or object to processing

You have the right to have the processing restricted in certain cases, see Article 21 of the GDPR, which:

  1. You contest the accuracy of the personal data – the processing is stopped for a period that allows us to check the correctness of the personal data.
  2. The processing is unlawful and you object to the erasure of the personal data and instead request that the use of the personal data be restricted.
  3. We no longer need the personal data for the purpose of the processing, but you need these to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

You may also object to processing pursuant to Article 21 (1) GDPR pending verification of whether our legitimate interests take precedence over your privacy.


The right to data portability

For information that you have provided to us and is necessary for the performance of an agreement with us, and which is processed automatically (i.e., not manually by us), you can request to have your personal data provided or transferred to another supplier in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format (data portability).


Automated processing, including profiling

There will be no automated processing, including profiling, based on your personal data that has legal effects or significantly affects those to whom the personal data relates. See GDPR Article 22 no. 1 and 4.
