The two-day conference, opened with a keynote address by former Prime Minister Erna Solberg, who outlined her vision for the future of aquaculture and pledged to improve regulatory conditions for the industry if her party returns to power.

A key moment was the presentation of a report by Menon Economics, which highlighted the rapid growth of the aquaculture sector over the past 15 years and its substantial impact on the economy. The report also identified key challenges, including fish welfare, environmental sustainability, and profitability, that must be addressed to fully leverage future opportunities.

In addition to hosting the exclusive event, Salmon Evolution, along with fellow GATH members Ode and Hofseth, had the privilege of sponsoring the conference dinner, further underscoring their commitment to fostering collaboration and supporting the industry’s growth. The conference was characterized by a spirit of openness and innovation, with discussions focused on sustainable solutions, such as land-based and closed-sea facilities.

Participants left the conference with a renewed sense of optimism about the future of aquaculture and the exciting developments ahead.
